Julien Lepièce, Musicologist & consultant : 1st coworker at Manistal
My name is Julien Lepièce and I am a musicologist. For a long time, I have worked as an employee in the music industry. After a few years, I decided to go back to school and study management to add another string to my bow. Today, I am a freelancer and an Executive Music Producer of jazz and classical music. Besides that, I work for certain festivals and occasionally help musicians. Very recently, I started creating workshops linking management to music. The goal? Inspire others and develop ones creativity.
When I became a freelancer, I used to work from home alone. At the beginning, I found it cool and comfortable. After a few weeks, it didn’t suit me anymore. I felt lonely and became aware of my need of human connections. Funny story, I became the first coworker at Manistal. It changed my life because I met people and found back a certain social life at work, which was absent when I was at home.
It’s a cosy coworking space, with a family atmosphere: the ideal location to meet my clients in a very professional way. Besides, I have to say that I owe a lot to them because that is where I met like-minded people, networked with them and eventually, with some of them, launched the management & music workshops.
“Just go for it”: it represents well my current mood. I find that when I am in this spirit, opportunities always find a way to me.
